
Deputy Director, Capitol Grounds and Arboretum
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Director, Capitol Grounds and Arboretum to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and oversight of all activities related to the Capitol Grounds and the Capitol Arboretum. This individual must possess an extensive knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, and grounds keeping practices and principles, as well as a passion for the preservation of the natural environment. The Deputy Director should be a team-oriented leader with excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience in the field of grounds keeping and arboretum management. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape and horticultural maintenance and must possess a valid driver’s license.Are you an experienced professional who is passionate about the preservation and maintenance of the Capitol Grounds and Arboretum? Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all activities related to the Capitol Grounds and the Capitol Arboretum
- Possess an extensive knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, and grounds keeping practices and principles
- Ensure the preservation of the natural environment
- Lead a team in an organized and efficient manner
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Develop and execute project management plans
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field
- Have at least 10 years of experience in the field of grounds keeping and arboretum management
- Have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape and horticultural maintenance
- Possess a valid driver’s license
