  1. Conduct regular and thorough inspections of designated buildings to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and preservation standards.
  2. Identify and document any structural or safety issues, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  3. Collaborate with other team members, including architects, engineers, and maintenance staff, to develop and implement maintenance and repair plans.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections and findings.
  5. Communicate effectively with building occupants and stakeholders regarding any potential safety concerns or disruptions.
  6. Stay up-to-date on all relevant building codes, regulations, and preservation guidelines.
  7. Conduct research and provide expertise on historical building materials and techniques.
  8. Coordinate and assist with special projects, such as renovations and restorations, to ensure compliance with regulations and preservation standards.
  9. Train and mentor junior building inspectors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  10. Collaborate with outside agencies and contractors to resolve any building-related issues.
  11. Participate in emergency and disaster response efforts, ensuring the safety and integrity of designated buildings.
  12. Continuously assess and improve building inspection processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Serve as a representative of the Architect of the Capitol, promoting the importance of building safety and preservation within the organization and the public.
