Underwriting Specialist

Responsible for underwriting in Healthcare Program for sub-produced renewal Professional Liability accounts. Develop and maintain relationships with sub-producers and make routine follow-up calls & emails for renewal applications and bind orders. Review, evaluate and rate renewal applications and related documents to obtain premium rate and loss ratio objectives. Review correspondence, imaging/workflow system, and reports to select routine matters for processing. Assist in review and assignments of emails of shared mailboxes. Escalate risks that are beyond assigned authority to Carrier for evaluation and direction. Follow underwriting guidelines and compliance procedures. Timely processing of renewal accounts (preferably 24 hours) and responsiveness to sub-producer. Interact with renewal underwriters and sub-producers to understand the competitive environment/market place and coverage needs. Enter and maintain data in computer system/spreadsheets.
