  1. Oversee the maintenance and repair operations for Amtrak's fleet of trains.
  2. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  3. Manage a team of mechanical technicians and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  4. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to keep trains in top working condition.
  5. Monitor and analyze data related to train performance, maintenance costs, and equipment reliability to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and operations, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely repairs.
  7. Review and approve equipment and supply purchases to ensure they meet company standards and budget requirements.
  8. Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in mechanical technology to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  9. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to team members to promote continuous improvement.
  10. Foster a culture of safety and compliance by promoting and enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits.
  11. Communicate with management and stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and any issues or concerns.
  12. Manage budget and resources to effectively control costs and meet operational goals.
  13. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as Amtrak's policies and procedures.
  14. Represent Amtrak in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  15. Uphold Amtrak's values of safety, innovation, and efficiency in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Leadership Role In The Railroad Or Transportation Industry

  • Strong Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Compliance In The Railroad Industry
