- Develop and maintain GIS databases and applications to support Amtrak's operations and decision-making processes.
- Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify GIS needs and provide solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest GIS technologies and trends to continuously improve Amtrak's GIS capabilities.
- Train and mentor junior GIS analysts to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with other departments to integrate GIS data with other systems and workflows.
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of GIS data.
- Communicate GIS strategies and progress to upper management and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement standards and procedures for GIS data collection, maintenance, and dissemination.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues.
- Manage and prioritize multiple GIS projects to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to leverage their expertise and resources.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security protocols.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Represent Amtrak at GIS conferences and events to network and stay current with industry advancements.
Bachelor’s Degree In Geography, Geographic Information Systems (Gis), Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working As A Gis Analyst, With At Least 2 Years In A Senior Or Lead Role.
Proficiency In Gis Software Such As Arcgis, Qgis, And/Or Mapinfo, As Well As Spatial Databases And Scripting Languages.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Manipulate And Analyze Large Datasets.
Excellent Communication And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams.
