  1. Lead and manage all electrical engineering projects for Amtrak, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  2. Design and develop new electrical systems and technologies to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of train operations.
  3. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and suggest innovative solutions.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers and technicians, to ensure successful project execution.
  5. Develop and maintain electrical engineering standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical engineering and apply them to Amtrak's projects.
  7. Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential hazards in electrical systems.
  8. Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  9. Train and mentor junior engineers and support staff to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  10. Communicate and present project updates, progress reports, and technical findings to upper management and stakeholders.
  11. Adhere to all safety regulations and standards in the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  12. Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed to obtain necessary resources and support for projects.
  13. Act as a technical expert and provide guidance and support to other departments within Amtrak on matters related to electrical engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Electrical Engineering, With At Least 5 Years In A Leadership Role.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Electrical Systems, Including Power Distribution, Signaling, And Traction.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Complex Projects And Teams, Including Budget And Resource Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders At All Levels.
