Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and legal knowledge will be essential in ensuring our legal team operates effectively and efficiently.To be successful in this role, you must have a paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in litigation and labor & employment law.   1. Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support attorneys in preparing for litigation and labor & employment matters.
  2. Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  3. Maintain and organize case files and documents, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Coordinate with outside counsel and internal departments to gather and exchange relevant information for legal proceedings.
  5. Manage and track deadlines and court appearances to ensure all necessary actions are taken in a timely manner.
  6. Prepare and maintain case budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
  7. Attend depositions, hearings, and trials, as needed, to assist attorneys in presenting and defending legal arguments.
  8. Collaborate with the legal team to develop and implement strategies for handling litigation and labor & employment matters.
  9. Communicate with internal departments to gather information and provide updates on legal matters.
  10. Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations related to litigation and labor & employment law and provide updates to the legal team.
  11. Assist in the preparation of training materials and presentations for employees on legal topics.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information and adhere to ethical standards.
  13. Participate in special projects and assignments as assigned by the legal team.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures within the legal department.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Amtrak while representing the organization in a professional and ethical manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Paralegal Studies Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Paralegal In A Litigation And/Or Labor & Employment Law Practice

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Laws Related To Labor And Employment, Including Fmla, Ada, And Title Vii

  • Proficient In Legal Research, Writing, And Document Management Software

  • Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Cases And Deadlines Simultaneously.
