  1. Develop and implement comprehensive work plans and schedules for maintenance and construction projects.
  2. Coordinate with various departments and teams to ensure smooth execution of work plans.
  3. Analyze project requirements and resources to determine optimal scheduling and sequencing of tasks.
  4. Monitor project progress and make adjustments to work plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
  5. Communicate work plans and schedules to relevant stakeholders, including project team members and upper management.
  6. Collaborate with project managers to identify and resolve any potential issues or conflicts in work plans.
  7. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in work planning.
  8. Manage a team of work planners, providing guidance and support as needed.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve work planning processes and procedures.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate into work planning strategies.
  11. Participate in budget planning and cost control for work planning activities.
  12. Handle any issues or concerns related to work planning in a timely and professional manner.
  13. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  14. Represent the company in a professional manner and promote a positive image of Amtrak.
  15. Act as a role model for the team, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a passion for the rail industry.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Communication Skills: A Manager - Work Planning Outage Planner At Amtrak Must Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Coordinate With Various Stakeholders And Teams Involved In Planning And Executing Work Outages.

  • Experience In Project Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Project Management, Including Developing Plans, Timelines, And Budgets To Ensure Successful Completion Of Work Outages.

  • Knowledge Of Railway Operations: A Thorough Understanding Of Railway Operations, Including Safety Regulations, Infrastructure Maintenance, And Train Scheduling, Is Essential For This Role To Effectively Plan And Coordinate Work Outages.

  • Leadership And Team Management: As A Manager, This Role Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Lead And Manage A Team Of Planners, Engineers, And Other Professionals Involved In Work Outage Planning And Execution.
