Job Description

Oversees the planning and delivery of proactive inventory, ensures the coordination of inventory and expense materials within multiple engineering departments such as Track, Electric Traction (ET), Communications & Signals (C&S), and Building & Bridges (B&B). Manages program management decisions, reporting and communications. Interacts with Engineering management such as Division Engineers, Deputy Division Engineers and Assistant Division Engineers regarding sub-division programs. Optimizes material service levels in logistical support of sub-divison programs. Establishes and manages program governance in accordance with Amtrak’s Supply Chain standards and elevates key decisions to appropriate levels Develops and implements inventory procurement processes and policies within materials management that comply with organizational standards, directs material control staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop programs. Provides support for determining adequate spare part inventory levels.

Job Qualifications
  • 7 years of relevant experience required

  • Demonstrated experience in materials management, warehouse inventory control, planning and distribution environment

  • Experience managing large, diverse and geographically dispersed groups of individuals

  • 9+ years of relevant experience

  • Ability to be on call 24/7
