
Lead Occupational Health Nurse

- Develop and implement occupational health programs and policies to promote employee wellness and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct workplace health assessments and provide recommendations for improvements to promote a safe work environment.
- Monitor and track employee health data, including illness and injury rates, and use this information to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for prevention.
- Collaborate with other members of the safety and health team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide training and education to employees on occupational health topics, including proper ergonomics, safe lifting techniques, and stress management.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding their health and safety concerns and provide guidance on resources available for health-related issues.
- Administer and maintain records for employee vaccinations, medical exams, and screenings.
- Conduct investigations into workplace injuries and illnesses and make recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Oversee the administration of workers' compensation claims and work with insurance providers to ensure proper care and treatment for injured employees.
- Collaborate with external healthcare providers to coordinate care for employees with work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in occupational health to continuously improve and enhance the company's programs and policies.
- Serve as a leader and mentor to other occupational health staff and promote a culture of health and safety throughout the organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Lead Occupational Health Nurse At Amtrak Should Have A Strong Educational Foundation In Nursing Or A Related Field To Effectively Assess, Diagnose, And Treat Occupational Health Issues.
Registered Nurse (Rn) License: It Is Essential For A Lead Occupational Health Nurse At Amtrak To Hold A Valid Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Demonstrates Their Knowledge And Competency In The Field Of Nursing.
Occupational Health Certification: Amtrak May Prefer Candidates Who Have Obtained Certification In Occupational Health Nursing, Such As The Certified Occupational Health Nurse (Cohn) Or Occupational Health Nursing Certification (Ohnc). This Certification Shows A Higher Level Of Expertise In The Field And A Commitment To Ongoing Education And Professional Development.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Occupational Health Nursing: Amtrak May Require A Lead Occupational Health Nurse To Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Occupational Health Nursing, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Coordinating Health Programs For Employees.
