- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on sheetmetal components of high-speed trains, following Amtrak's safety standards and procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot sheetmetal issues and make necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Fabricate and install sheetmetal parts and components according to engineering specifications and drawings.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper functioning and safety of sheetmetal components.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to identify and resolve complex sheetmetal problems.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each task.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to sheetmetal work.
- Continuously monitor and maintain inventory levels of sheetmetal materials and supplies.
- Adhere to Amtrak's quality standards and participate in quality control processes.
- Train and mentor new sheetmetal technicians as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to provide updates on work progress and any potential issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety protocols at all times.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving measures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and technology related to sheetmetal work.
- Represent Amtrak in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Sheetmetal Fabrication And Repair
Proficiency In Reading And Interpreting Technical Drawings And Blueprints
Familiarity With Various Sheetmetal Tools And Equipment, Including Shears, Brakes, And Rollers
Knowledge Of Industry Safety Standards And Procedures
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Meet Tight Deadlines While Maintaining High Quality Standards.
