Lead and conduct research using confocal microscopy to drive scientific discoveries and advance the company's research and development efforts.
Utilize state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to optimize confocal microscopy experiments and produce accurate and reliable results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments that address key scientific questions and support project goals.
Analyze and interpret data, and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
Maintain and troubleshoot confocal microscopy equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of results.
Stay current with advancements in confocal microscopy technology and identify opportunities to incorporate new methods into research.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and research associates in confocal microscopy techniques and data analysis.
Contribute to the development of new assays and protocols using confocal microscopy.
Actively participate in scientific discussions and present findings at internal and external meetings.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Life Sciences: A Minimum Of A Phd In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Biochemistry, Or Molecular Biology Is Required For A Sr. Scientist - Confocal Microscopy Role At Amgen. This Advanced Degree Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Scientific Principles And Technical Knowledge.
Extensive Experience In Confocal Microscopy: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working With Confocal Microscopy In A Research Setting. This Includes A Deep Understanding Of Confocal Microscopy Techniques, Troubleshooting, And Data Analysis.
Strong Scientific Background: The Sr. Scientist - Confocal Microscopy Should Have A Strong Background In Cellular And Molecular Biology, As Well As A Broad Understanding Of Various Research Techniques. This Includes Experience With Cell Culture, Immunofluorescence, And Imaging Analysis.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Sr. Scientist At Amgen, The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Team Members And Cross-Functional Teams Is Crucial. This Includes Presenting Research Findings, Writing Technical Reports, And Working With Colleagues To Design And Execute Experiments.
Leadership And Project Management Experience: The Sr. Scientist - Confocal Microscopy Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing Projects, As Well As Supervising Junior Scientists. Therefore, Previous Experience In Project Management, Team Leadership, And Mentoring Is Highly Desirable For This Role.
