
Senior Medical Science Liaison – Rare Disease: Southern CA

- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders in the rare disease community in Southern California
- Utilize strong scientific knowledge and expertise to effectively communicate the latest research and data to healthcare professionals and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans for scientific exchange and education within the rare disease community
- Identify and engage with potential new key opinion leaders to expand Amgen's network and influence within the rare disease space
- Attend and represent Amgen at medical conferences, symposiums, and other events to stay informed on the latest developments and trends in rare diseases
- Provide medical and scientific support to internal teams, including sales, marketing, and clinical development, to ensure alignment of messaging and strategies
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance in all activities and communications
- Act as a resource for healthcare professionals and patients seeking information on rare diseases and Amgen's therapies
- Continuously assess and analyze data and feedback from key opinion leaders to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic decision-making
- Contribute to the development and execution of publications, presentations, and other educational materials to support scientific exchange within the rare disease community.
Advanced Degree In Life Sciences: A Senior Medical Science Liaison (Msl) For Rare Diseases At Amgen Must Have An Advanced Degree In A Relevant Life Science Field Such As Pharmacology, Biology, Or Medicine. A Phd, Md, Or Pharmd Is Preferred.
Extensive Experience In Rare Disease Therapeutics: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Rare Diseases, With A Strong Understanding Of The Current Treatment Landscape And Emerging Therapies.
Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills: As A Senior Msl, The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Scientific Information To A Variety Of Stakeholders Is Crucial. This Includes Strong Presentation Skills And The Ability To Build Relationships With Key Opinion Leaders And Healthcare Professionals.
Understanding Of Medical Affairs And Regulatory Guidelines: Amgen Requires Candidates To Have A Deep Understanding Of Medical Affairs And Regulatory Guidelines, Including Compliance With Industry Standards And Regulations.
Team Player And Leadership Skills: The Senior Msl Will Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams And Must Demonstrate Strong Teamwork And Leadership Abilities. This Includes The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Colleagues In Various Departments, As Well As Provide Guidance And Mentorship To More Junior Msls.
