- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support Amgen's policy initiatives and priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and communication efforts.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, policy developments, and healthcare landscape to inform communication strategies.
- Serve as a key spokesperson and representative for Amgen on policy-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to effectively communicate Amgen's policy positions and initiatives.
- Draft and review communication materials, including press releases, statements, talking points, and presentations, to effectively convey Amgen's policy priorities and initiatives.
- Proactively identify and manage potential communication challenges and crises related to policy issues.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional growth and development.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of policy communication strategies, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.
- Represent Amgen at industry conferences, events, and meetings to promote our policy initiatives and position Amgen as a thought leader in the healthcare industry.
- Collaborate with external partners, including advocacy groups and patient organizations, to amplify our policy message and garner support for our initiatives.
- Advocate for Amgen's policy priorities and initiatives through thought leadership pieces, op-eds, and other external communication opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and industry standards in all communication efforts.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in policy communication strategies to drive positive change and support Amgen's mission.
Extensive Experience In Policy Communications: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Policy Communications, Preferably In The Healthcare Or Pharmaceutical Industry. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Government Policies And Regulations, As Well As Experience In Developing And Executing Communication Strategies To Influence Policy Decisions.
Strong Knowledge Of U.s. And International Healthcare Systems: The Senior Manager Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The U.s. Healthcare System, Including Government Programs Such As Medicare And Medicaid. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of International Healthcare Systems, Particularly In Key Markets For Amgen.
Excellent Writing And Communication Skills: The Role Requires Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, As The Senior Manager Will Be Responsible For Developing And Delivering Key Messaging To Internal And External Stakeholders. They Should Be Able To Distill Complex Policy Issues Into Clear And Concise Messages For A Variety Of Audiences.
Proven Track Record Of Building Relationships: The Senior Manager Should Have A Demonstrated Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Key Policy Stakeholders, Including Government Officials, Industry Associations, And Patient Advocacy Groups. They Should Be Able To Effectively Navigate And Influence A Complex Network Of Stakeholders.
