Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions for the production of biotechnology medicines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize upstream manufacturing processes.
Conduct experiments and analyze data to identify process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies in all engineering activities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers to support their growth and development.
Participate in project planning and execution, including equipment selection, installation, and qualification.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for manufacturing processes.
Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization.
Stay current with advancements in biotechnology and engineering to identify new technologies and strategies to improve manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and escalate any issues as needed.
Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team and across the organization.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Technical Expertise: A Senior Engineer - Upstream Manufacturing At Amgen Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Upstream Manufacturing Processes, Including Cell Culture, Fermentation, And Bioreactor Operations. They Should Also Have Experience With Process Development And Optimization.
Leadership Skills: As A Senior Role, This Position Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Guide And Mentor A Team Of Engineers And Technicians. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Managing And Developing People, As Well As The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Cross-Functional Teams.
Regulatory Knowledge: Amgen Is A Highly Regulated Industry, And A Senior Engineer - Upstream Manufacturing Should Be Well-Versed In Current Good Manufacturing Practices (Cgmp) And Other Regulatory Requirements. They Should Have Experience With Regulatory Inspections And Be Able To Ensure Compliance With All Relevant Regulations And Guidelines.
Problem-Solving Abilities: The Ability To Troubleshoot And Solve Problems Efficiently Is Critical In This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Identifying And Resolving Process-Related Issues, As Well As Implementing Solutions To Improve Efficiency And Productivity.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Amgen Is Committed To Continuous Improvement, And The Senior Engineer - Upstream Manufacturing Should Share This Mindset.
