Oversee the overall governance of external suppliers involved in research and development processes.
Develop and implement a comprehensive supplier management strategy to ensure quality and compliance.
Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Conduct regular audits and evaluations of supplier performance to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure that all suppliers meet regulatory and legal requirements.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with external suppliers.
Communicate and enforce company policies and standards to external suppliers.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for supplier governance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in supplier management.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on supplier performance and compliance.
Train and mentor team members on supplier governance processes and procedures.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the supplier governance team.
Serve as a point of contact for any supplier-related issues or concerns.
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Supplier Management And Governance: A Successful R&D Supplier Governance Manager At Amgen Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Supplier Management And Governance Principles, As Well As Experience In Implementing And Maintaining Effective Supplier Governance Programs.
Strong Understanding Of R&D Operations And Processes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of R&D Operations And Processes, As Well As Knowledge Of The Pharmaceutical Industry And Drug Development Life Cycle. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Manage R&D Suppliers And Ensure Alignment With Amgen's Goals And Objectives.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The R&D Supplier Governance Manager Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Internal Stakeholders And External Suppliers. This Includes The Ability To Negotiate Contracts, Resolve Conflicts, And Build Strong Relationships With Suppliers.
Proven Track Record Of Project Management And Problem-Solving: The Role Of R&D Supplier Governance Manager Requires Strong Project Management Skills To Effectively Manage Multiple Supplier Relationships And Projects Simultaneously. The Candidate Should Also Have A Proven Track Record Of Problem-Solving And Decision-Making To Address Any Issues That May Arise With Suppliers.
Education And Experience In Relevant Fields: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Business, Supply Chain Management, Or Life Sciences Is Typically Required For This Role. In Addition, Previous Experience In Supplier Management, Procurement, Or R&D Operations Is Highly Desirable.
