  1. Lead and drive the development and optimization of biopharmaceutical processes for the production of life-saving medicines.
  2. Utilize expertise in bioprocessing to identify and implement innovative solutions for process development challenges.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute scientific strategies and achieve project goals.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into process development.
  5. Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all experiments and results in accordance with company guidelines.
  7. Train and mentor junior scientists in process development techniques and best practices.
  8. Participate in technology transfer and scale-up activities to support process commercialization.
  9. Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to address process deviations and implement process improvements.
  10. Contribute to the writing and review of technical reports, regulatory submissions, and scientific publications.
  11. Maintain a high level of scientific rigor and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  12. Continuously identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  13. Represent Amgen at scientific conferences and meetings, and contribute to the scientific community through presentations and publications.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field: This Could Include A Phd In Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Or A Related Field. A Strong Educational Background Is Essential For The Role Of A Process Development Principal Scientist.

  • Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Industry Experience: Amgen Is Seeking Candidates With Extensive Experience Working In The Biotechnology Or Pharmaceutical Industry. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Relevant Experience In Process Development, Preferably In A Leadership Role.

  • Expertise In Biopharmaceutical Process Development: The Process Development Principal Scientist Will Be Responsible For Developing And Optimizing Biomanufacturing Processes. Therefore, Candidates Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Biopharmaceutical Process Development, Including Upstream And Downstream Process Development, Process Scale-Up And Tech Transfer.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Project Management: Amgen Is Looking For Candidates Who Have A Strong Track Record Of Successfully Leading And Managing Complex Projects. This Includes Experience In Developing Project Plans, Managing Timelines, And Coordinating Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Leader Within The Organization, The Process Development Principal Scientist Will Be Expected To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Including R&D, Manufacturing, And Quality Control.
