Oversee and manage all aspects of vivarium operations, including staffing, budgeting, and maintenance of facilities and equipment
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the vivarium to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute preclinical studies in support of drug discovery and development
Provide leadership and mentorship to vivarium staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment
Ensure the humane care and welfare of research animals, in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, and animal models
Review and analyze data from preclinical studies, and provide recommendations for future experiments
Stay current with industry trends, relevant regulations, and advancements in animal research techniques
Foster relationships with external partners and vendors to support vivarium operations and study execution
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and timely completion of project milestones.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field (E.g. Biology, Pharmacology, Veterinary Medicine)
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Managing Vivarium Operations In A Preclinical Setting
Strong Understanding Of Animal Welfare Regulations And Guidelines (E.g. Aaalac, Iacuc)
Proven Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing A Team And Overseeing Multiple Projects Simultaneously
