
Preclinical Associate Director - Vivarium Operations

- Oversee and manage all aspects of vivarium operations, including animal care, husbandry, facility maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve and optimize vivarium operations and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare.
- Lead and mentor a team of vivarium staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, veterinarians, and regulatory specialists, to support preclinical research projects.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to animal care and use.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of necessary resources.
- Manage vivarium budgets and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of funding and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in preclinical research and animal welfare, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve vivarium operations.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including senior management and project teams, to provide updates on vivarium operations and address any issues or concerns.
- Uphold Amgen's values and ethical standards, promoting a culture of integrity and responsibility in all aspects of vivarium operations.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Or Neuroscience.
Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Industry Experience In A Research Or Laboratory Setting, With At Least 3-5 Years Managing Vivarium Operations.
Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Guidelines And Compliance Requirements For The Use Of Laboratory Animals In Research.
Proven Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing And Developing A Team Of Vivarium Staff.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And External Partners.
