- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize vivarium operations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage a team of vivarium technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support preclinical research and development projects.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records and documentation related to vivarium operations, animal health, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines related to animal welfare and research.
- Foster a culture of safety and ethical treatment of animals within the vivarium facilities.
- Stay up-to-date with advances in preclinical research and technology, and implement new techniques and methods to improve vivarium operations.
- Develop and manage budgets for vivarium operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Represent the company in external meetings and conferences related to vivarium operations and preclinical research.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for vivarium staff, ensuring a diverse and talented team.
- Act as a liaison between the vivarium team and other departments within the company.

Extensive Experience In Managing Vivarium Operations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Managing Vivarium Operations, Including Overseeing Animal Husbandry, Facility Maintenance, And Compliance With Regulatory Guidelines.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Preclinical Associate Director, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Vivarium Staff And Ensuring Efficient And Effective Operations. Therefore, The Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Motivate And Guide The Team.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Animal Research Regulations And Guidelines: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Animal Welfare Regulations And Guidelines, Such As Usda, Aaalac, And Iacuc, To Ensure Compliance And Ethical Treatment Of Animals In The Vivarium.
Experience In Developing And Implementing Vivarium Procedures And Protocols: The Candidate Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Standard Operating Procedures (Sops) For Vivarium Operations, Including Animal Care, Husbandry, And Facility Maintenance. They Should Also Have Experience In Managing And Training Staff On These Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, To Effectively Communicate With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Researchers, Veterinarians, And Regulatory Agencies.
