Oversee and manage the global accounting operations of Amgen, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data and adherence to company and industry best practices.
Lead and mentor a team of accountants to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making processes.
Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor and analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement or potential risks.
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key insights and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in all relevant jurisdictions.
Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting principles, providing guidance and training to colleagues across the organization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and business partners.
Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in accounting standards, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
Demonstrate a commitment to the company's mission, values, and ethical standards in all aspects of the role.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance: A Strong Foundation In Accounting Principles And Financial Management Is Essential For A Global Accounting Manager At Amgen.
Cpa Certification: Amgen Values Individuals With A Cpa Certification, As It Demonstrates A High Level Of Technical Expertise And A Commitment To The Accounting Profession.
Minimum Of 8 Years Of Experience In Accounting Or Finance: Amgen Seeks Candidates With A Minimum Of 8 Years Of Relevant Experience, Preferably In A Global Accounting Role.
Strong Knowledge Of Us Gaap And Ifrs: Amgen Operates In Multiple Countries And Adheres To Both Us Gaap And Ifrs Standards. A Global Accounting Manager Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Standards To Ensure Compliance And Accurate Financial Reporting.
Multinational Experience: Amgen Is A Global Company With Operations In Multiple Countries. A Global Accounting Manager Should Have Experience Working In A Multinational Environment, With A Strong Understanding Of International Accounting Principles And Cross-Border Transactions.
