Develop and execute a strategic plan for statistical innovation within Amgen's drug development process.
Lead and manage a team of statisticians and data scientists in the development and implementation of advanced statistical methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize areas where statistical innovation can enhance drug development.
Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in statistical methodologies and identify opportunities to apply them to Amgen's pipeline.
Drive the adoption of innovative statistical techniques and tools across the organization.
Work closely with senior leadership to communicate the impact and value of statistical innovation to the company.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Develop and maintain relationships with external experts and organizations to stay current on industry trends and best practices in statistical innovation.
Identify and manage partnerships and collaborations with external organizations to advance statistical innovation within Amgen.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies related to statistical innovation.
Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on statistical innovation to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring a diverse and high-performing team.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to statistical innovation, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective actions when necessary.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to statistical innovation to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Act as a thought leader and advocate for statistical innovation within Amgen and in the broader scientific community.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Statistics, Mathematics, Or A Related Field: A Director Of Statistical Innovation At Amgen Should Possess A Strong Educational Background In Statistics Or A Related Field. This Could Include A Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Statistics, Mathematics, Or Biostatistics.
Extensive Experience In Statistical Methodology And Innovation: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Statistical Methodology And Innovation, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Novel Statistical Approaches To Drive Innovation And Improve Decision-Making.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Director, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Statisticians And Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams. Thus, They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Developing A Team, As Well As Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines And Industry Standards: Amgen Is A Highly Regulated Industry, And The Director Of Statistical Innovation Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Regulatory Guidelines And Industry Standards For Clinical Trials And Drug Development. This Includes Experience With Fda And Global Regulatory Submissions And Knowledge Of Ich And Other Relevant Guidelines.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Director Of Statistical Innovation Must Possess Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills To Identify And Address Complex Problems And Develop Innovative Solutions. They Should Also Have Experience In Strategic Planning And Be Able To Effectively Communicate Their Ideas And Recommendations To Senior Leadership.
