  1. Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to identify and pursue new growth opportunities for Amgen.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners and target companies, to facilitate successful transactions.
  3. Lead negotiations for licensing and collaboration agreements, ensuring that they align with Amgen's overall business goals and objectives.
  4. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential M&A opportunities and evaluate their potential impact on Amgen's business.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and prioritize potential opportunities, and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  6. Develop and manage financial models to support business development decisions and ensure alignment with company financial goals.
  7. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, and provide insights and recommendations to inform business development strategies.
  8. Represent Amgen at industry conferences and events, and participate in networking opportunities to expand the company's business development network.
  9. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the biotech industry, including competitive landscape, market trends and regulatory environment.
  10. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, to provide updates on business development activities and progress.
  11. Lead due diligence efforts for potential transactions, working closely with legal, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and timely execution.
  12. Monitor and report on the progress and success of completed transactions, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  13. Mentor and develop a team of business development professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  15. Uphold Amgen's core values and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and patient focus.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Deal-Making: The Director Of Business Development Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Negotiating And Closing Deals In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry. This Includes Experience With Licensing Agreements, Collaborations, Acquisitions, And Other Types Of Transactions.

  • Strategic Thinking And Business Acumen: The Director Should Possess Strong Strategic Thinking Skills And The Ability To Assess Potential Opportunities Based On Their Fit With Amgen's Overall Business Strategy. They Should Also Have A Deep Understanding Of Financial Analysis And Business Valuation To Evaluate Potential Deals.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: The Director Of Business Development Will Be Responsible For Building Relationships And Negotiating With External Partners, As Well As Communicating With Internal Stakeholders. Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Leadership And Team Management Experience: The Director Will Lead A Team Of Business Development Professionals And Will Be Responsible For Setting Goals, Managing Performance, And Fostering A Collaborative And High-Performing Team Culture. Previous Experience In Team Management And Leadership Is A Must For This Role.
