Job Description

At American University, we are looking for an Instructional Designer who can bring their creative and innovative spirit to our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about developing engaging learning experiences, has excellent communication and collaboration skills, and is knowledgeable in the latest instructional design trends. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating innovative online courses, working with faculty and subject matter experts to design course materials, and providing instructional support to faculty.The successful Instructional Designer will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree or certification in Instructional Design is preferred. In addition, the ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in instructional design and/or course development, a solid understanding of online learning principles and techniques, and experience with various learning management systems. If you have a passion for instructional design and are ready to join a team that is dedicated to providing high-quality learning experiences, we'd love to hear from you!
