  1. Evaluate and assess risks for marine insurance policies to determine potential risks and exposures.
  2. Develop underwriting strategies and guidelines in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Manage relationships with brokers and clients to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends and developments to inform underwriting decisions.
  5. Utilize data analysis and risk modeling tools to inform underwriting decisions.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and finance, to ensure cohesive and effective operations.
  7. Conduct thorough reviews of insurance applications and supporting documents to determine coverage eligibility.
  8. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters, as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized underwriting files and records.
  10. Adhere to regulatory and compliance standards in all underwriting activities.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold its values and reputation.
  13. Continuously monitor and analyze underwriting performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the marine underwriting team.
  15. Remain informed of market conditions and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
  16. Assist with the development and implementation of new marine insurance products and services.
  17. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and concerns.
  18. Act as a subject matter expert on marine underwriting and provide guidance to colleagues and other departments as needed.
  19. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  20. Continuously strive for excellence in underwriting practices and provide exceptional service to clients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Finance, Or A Related Field. A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field May Also Be Preferred.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As An Underwriter In The Marine Insurance Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Marine Insurance Products, Underwriting Principles, And Risk Assessment.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Sound Underwriting Decisions.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Clients, Brokers, And Other Stakeholders.
