  1. Conduct thorough and accurate risk assessments for clients' inland marine insurance needs.
  2. Utilize your expertise and knowledge of the insurance industry to make informed underwriting decisions.
  3. Analyze and evaluate underwriting data to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
  4. Communicate effectively with clients and brokers to gather necessary information and explain underwriting decisions.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
  6. Proactively identify and address potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and sales, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  8. Train and mentor junior underwriters to develop their skills and knowledge.
  9. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance.
  10. Participate in business development activities to expand the company's book of business.
  11. Represent the company professionally and ethically in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
  12. Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions and transactions.
  13. Continuously improve underwriting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  14. Adhere to company underwriting guidelines and standards.
  15. Take on additional responsibilities and projects, as needed, to support the growth and success of the Inland Marine division.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Inland Marine Insurance: A Senior Underwriter Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Inland Marine Insurance Products, Including Coverage Types, Policy Language, And Risk Assessment. This Knowledge Is Essential For Accurately Assessing And Underwriting Inland Marine Policies.

  • Strong Analytical And Decision-Making Skills: As A Senior Underwriter, One Must Have Excellent Analytical And Decision-Making Abilities To Evaluate Complex Risks And Make Data-Driven Underwriting Decisions. This Includes Assessing The Potential For Loss, Pricing Policies, And Setting Appropriate Coverage Limits.

  • Experience In The Insurance Industry: This Position Requires A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In The Insurance Industry, Preferably In Inland Marine Underwriting. This Experience Provides The Necessary Background And Understanding Of The Industry To Excel In This Role.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Inland Marine Underwriting Involves Complex Risks And Large Amounts Of Data. A Senior Underwriter Must Possess A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy To Ensure That Policies Are Underwritten Correctly And In Compliance With Company Guidelines.

  • Effective Communication And Negotiation Skills: A Senior Underwriter Must Have Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills To Interact With Clients, Brokers, And Other Stakeholders Effectively. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Insurance Terms And Negotiate Terms And Pricing With Brokers To Secure New Business.
