American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Senior Underwriter for our General Energy Middle Markets Casualty (GEMM) team.   1. Evaluate and assess risk associated with energy companies within the general energy middle markets sector.
  2. Utilize extensive knowledge and experience in the energy industry to make informed and accurate underwriting decisions.
  3. Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in underwriting practices and procedures.
  4. Analyze financial data and market trends to determine appropriate pricing for energy industry risks.
  5. Communicate effectively with brokers and clients to gather necessary information and explain underwriting decisions and processes.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the energy industry, including brokers, clients, and other industry professionals.
  7. Stay updated on industry regulations and market changes that may impact underwriting decisions.
  8. Identify and implement strategies to mitigate risk and improve underwriting results for the GEMM team.
  9. Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized underwriting files and documentation.
  11. Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and risk management, to ensure a comprehensive approach to underwriting.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth within the energy industry.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry best practices, in all underwriting activities.
  14. Represent AIG in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Assess Risk And Make Sound Underwriting Decisions.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Energy-Related Risks In The Middle Market Segment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Industry Trends And Regulations Related To Energy And Casualty Insurance.

  • Proven Track Record Of Building And Maintaining Relationships With Brokers And Clients In The Energy Sector.
