Job Description

Welcome to American International Group! We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Class Underwriter for our Directors and Officers (D&O) department. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating complex risks associated with the personal and financial liabilities of directors and officers of our clients' organizations. We are seeking a candidate who possess extensive knowledge of the D&O underwriting process, as well as strong analytical and decision-making skills.   1. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of complex risks associated with directors and officers of client organizations.
  2. Utilize extensive knowledge of the D&O underwriting process to accurately assess potential risks and make informed decisions.
  3. Review and interpret financial statements, legal documents, and other relevant information to determine risk levels.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information and ensure accurate risk assessments.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored solutions.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information regarding risk assessments.
  8. Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to junior underwriters within the team.
  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies to drive business growth and increase profitability.
  10. Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the underwriting process.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
  12. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations, in all underwriting activities.
  13. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge in the field of D&O underwriting.
  14. Meet or exceed individual and team underwriting targets to contribute to the overall success of the department and company.
  15. Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at industry events and networking opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Underwriting Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability Insurance, Preferably With A Minimum Of 7-10 Years In A Senior Or Leadership Role.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Insurance Industry Regulations And Compliance Requirements, Particularly Related To D&O Coverage.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And The Ability To Assess Complex Risks And Make Sound Underwriting Decisions.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Growing A Book Of Business, Including Developing And Maintaining Relationships With Brokers And Clients.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Internal Teams And External Stakeholders.
