- Develop and implement strategies for managing complex general liability claims in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee a team of claims adjusters and provide guidance and support in handling complex claims.
- Review and analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as legal and risk management, to ensure a coordinated approach to claim resolution.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of industry regulations and trends to ensure compliance and efficiency in claims management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for general liability claims and provide guidance and training to other team members.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and senior management, to provide updates on claim status and resolution.
- Conduct thorough investigations and evaluations of complex claims to determine coverage and liability.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other parties involved in the claim.
- Monitor and report on the financial impact of complex claims on the company.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting of all claims.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to general liability claims.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and abilities.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in claims management.
- Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Extensive Experience In Handling Complex Claims: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Handling Complex General Liability Claims. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Resolving High-Value And High-Profile Claims.
In-Depth Knowledge Of General Liability Insurance: The Complex Claims Director Must Have A Strong Understanding Of General Liability Insurance Policies, Coverage, And Exclusions. They Should Be Well-Versed In State And Federal Laws Related To Liability Claims, Including Tort Law, Contract Law, And Insurance Regulations.
Strong Leadership And Team Management Skills: This Role Requires The Candidate To Lead And Manage A Team Of Claims Professionals. The Complex Claims Director Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Motivate And Develop Their Team To Achieve Departmental Goals And Objectives.
Exceptional Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Successful Complex Claims Director Must Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Evaluate And Resolve Complex Claims.
