As a Class Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in managing and assessing risks for our clients in the dynamic and complex world of upstream energy.   1. Evaluate and assess potential risks associated with clients in the upstream energy industry.
  2. Utilize underwriting principles and guidelines to determine appropriate coverage and premiums for clients.
  3. Review and analyze data and information provided by clients to make informed underwriting decisions.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the underwriting team to identify trends and potential risks in the energy industry.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and brokers to ensure a thorough understanding of their needs and risks.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and market trends to make informed underwriting decisions.
  7. Communicate underwriting decisions and recommendations to clients and brokers in a clear and professional manner.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed underwriting records and documents.
  9. Continuously review and improve underwriting processes and procedures for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements related to underwriting in the energy industry.
  11. Collaborate with claims and risk management teams to provide support and guidance on complex claims and risk management issues.
  12. Mentor and train junior underwriters to develop their skills and knowledge in the energy industry.
  13. Represent AIG in industry events and conferences to promote our services and build relationships with potential clients.
  14. Contribute to the development of new products and services to meet the evolving needs of clients in the energy industry.
  15. Collaborate with other departments within AIG to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Clients And Brokers.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of The Energy Industry, Including A Deep Understanding Of Upstream Operations, Risk Management Strategies, And Market Trends.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Underwriting Energy Insurance, Preferably With A Focus On Upstream Energy.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Evaluate Complex Risk Profiles And Make Informed Decisions.

  • Understanding Of Regulatory And Compliance Requirements Related To Energy Insurance, Including Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations.
