Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Engineer to join the American Electric Power team. Our ideal candidate is an organized and detail-oriented professional who can work independently and in a team setting. We value candidates who have a passion for safety and risk management and a desire to help us continue to provide reliable and safe electricity to our customers. The PRA Engineer will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and maintenance of risk assessment models that help to ensure the safety of our operations and our customers. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills, with a knowledge of the principles of PRA and demonstrated experience in their application. We are looking for someone who can quickly gain an understanding of our risk management processes and use their knowledge to contribute to the success of the team.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline• 5+ years of experience with PRA• Ability to understand and interpret complex technical information• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills• Proficiency in the use of Risk Assessment software• Knowledge of reliability and risk management principles
