
Director, Safety - ASAP Programs

- Develop and implement safety programs for American Airlines' ASAP (Aviation Safety Action Program) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of safety professionals to effectively execute safety programs and initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to identify potential hazards and risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the airline's safety programs.
- Communicate safety updates and changes to all relevant stakeholders, including employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between American Airlines and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and accidents, and develop recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all safety-related regulations and standards, and ensure compliance across the organization.
- Develop and manage safety budgets and resources to support the implementation of safety programs.
- Drive a culture of safety throughout the organization by promoting awareness and accountability.
- Represent American Airlines at industry events and conferences to stay informed on industry trends and network with other safety professionals.
- Continuously evaluate and improve safety processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety for our passengers and employees.
Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Aviation Safety Regulations And Standards, Preferably With A Focus On Asap (Aviation Safety Action Program) Initiatives.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Leadership And Management In A Safety-Related Role, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Safety Strategies And Programs.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And External Stakeholders, Such As Regulatory Agencies And Industry Partners.
In-Depth Understanding Of Safety Risk Assessment And Mitigation Techniques, Including Incident Investigation, Data Analysis, And Safety Performance Monitoring.
Bachelor's Or Advanced Degree In Aviation Safety, Engineering, Or A Related Field, With Relevant Certifications (E.g. Certified Safety Professional, Certified Flight Safety Officer) Being A Plus.
