Job Description

Develops actionable internal and external communications strategies with the goal of improving American’s reputation among customers, team members, media, and influencers. Spearheads our operations, public affairs and issues/crisis communications work. Provides strategic advice to senior leadership team on storytelling and media. Leverages the Company’s existing media and third-party influential relationships to enhance relationships. Identifies, shapes, and pitches proactive company stories that reinforce key business strategies and results. Manages a combination of traditional and digital communications channels. Establishes and maintains successful partnerships with other leaders and teams from across the airline, including marketing, brand, loyalty, premium experience, and customer experience. Serves as a company spokesperson. Engages in ongoing engagements with reporters, including pitching stories and responding to incoming inquiries.
