- Provide compassionate and high-quality psychiatric care to patients and their families.
- Utilize nursing knowledge and skills to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and document all patient interactions.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure patient safety at all times and advocate for patients' needs and rights.
- Act as a resource for patients, families, and colleagues regarding mental health disorders and treatment options.

Valid Rn License: The Candidate Must Have A Current, Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing As A Psychiatric Nurse.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Amedisys Prefers Candidates With A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, As It Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Research.
Experience In Psychiatric Nursing: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Psychiatric Nursing, With Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders, Treatment Modalities, And Medication Administration.
Cpr Certification: All Psychiatric Nurses Must Have Current Cpr Certification, As They May Encounter Medical Emergencies In Their Line Of Work.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working With Patients Who Have Mental Health Issues Requires Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
