  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality hospice care to patients in their final days.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  3. Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe appropriate medications and treatments.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure understanding and comfort with end-of-life care decisions.
  6. Document patient care and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in providing patient care.
  8. Continuously evaluate and adjust care plans to meet the changing needs of patients.
  9. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding hospice care and end-of-life processes.
  10. Serve as a resource and consultant to other team members, including nurses, social workers, and therapists.
  11. Maintain and update knowledge of current hospice care practices and trends.
  12. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discussions and decision-making.
  13. Collaborate with community providers and resources to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  14. Adhere to Amedisys policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Foster a positive and supportive work environment for all team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: Candidates For A Physician Hospice Job At Amedisys Must Have A Medical Doctor (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Amedisys Requires Physicians To Be Board Certified In Hospice And Palliative Medicine Or Have Significant Experience In Hospice Care.

  • State Medical License: Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing.

  • Experience In End-Of-Life Care: Amedisys Seeks Physicians With Experience In End-Of-Life Care, Including Pain Management, Symptom Control, And Communication With Patients And Their Families.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: As A Physician Hospice, Candidates Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Team Members.
