  1. Oversee the clinical care and operations of the hospice program.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high quality and compassionate end-of-life care for patients.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to the hospice team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare providers and community organizations to ensure seamless care for patients.
  5. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of the hospice program to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address their concerns and provide support.
  8. Serve as a mentor and educator to staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and goals.
  10. Stay updated on current trends and developments in hospice and palliative care to continuously improve patient care.
  11. Represent Amedisys in the community and maintain positive relationships with referral sources.
  12. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and program operations.
  13. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and achieve program goals and objectives.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree And Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate For The Physician Associate Hospice Medical Director Position Should Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited University And Be Board Certified In Their Respective Medical Specialty.

  • Experience In Hospice Care: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In Hospice Care, With A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Hospice Patients.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Medical Director, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team Of Healthcare Professionals.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, As They Will Be Working Closely With Interdisciplinary Teams, Patients, And Their Families.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Compliance: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Hospice Care Regulations And Compliance Requirements At Both The State And Federal Levels. Experience With Accreditation And Survey Processes Is Also Desirable.
