As the Medical Director, you will provide expert medical care and leadership for our hospice patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of quality and comfort for our patients and their families.   • Provide expert medical care to hospice patients, including assessing and managing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and spiritual counselors, to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Serve as a leader and mentor to the hospice team, providing guidance, support, and education on end-of-life care
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines for hospice care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation, including patient assessments, progress notes, and orders
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education, support, and guidance on end-of-life care options
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and conferences to contribute to the development and improvement of hospice services
  • Stay current with developments and advancements in hospice and palliative medicine and incorporate new knowledge and techniques into patient care
  • Serve as a liaison between Amedisys and external healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and enhance the quality of care for patients
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting patients' wishes and beliefs.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: The Physician Associate Hospice Medical Director Must Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Is A Fundamental Requirement For Any Medical Director Position As It Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Medical Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Care.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Medical Director, Effective Communication Is Essential In Collaborating With The Hospice Team, Patients, And Their Families. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Medical Information And Instructions.

  • Knowledge Of Hospice Regulations: The Physician Associate Hospice Medical Director Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hospice Regulations And Compliance Standards. This Includes Knowledge Of Medicare And Medicaid Regulations, As Well As State And Federal Laws Related To Hospice Care.
