  1. Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided.
  2. Review medical records and other documentation to identify and select appropriate codes based on coding guidelines and regulations.
  3. Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies and obtain any necessary documentation.
  4. Stay updated on coding changes, guidelines, and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  5. Collaborate with other team members, including physicians and billing specialists, to ensure accurate and complete coding and billing processes.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  7. Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve coding skills and knowledge.
  8. Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide suggestions for streamlining coding and billing processes.
  9. Follow all relevant policies and procedures to ensure accurate and ethical coding practices.
  10. Maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity while meeting deadlines.
  11. Provide support to other team members as needed and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and strive for excellence in all aspects of the job.
  13. Act as a resource for coding inquiries and provide guidance and assistance to colleagues as needed.
  14. Proactively identify and report any potential compliance or fraud issues in coding practices.
  15. Maintain all necessary certifications and attend continuing education courses to stay current in the field of medical coding.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From A Recognized Organization Such As Aapc Or Ahima.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Medical Coding, Preferably In A Home Health Or Hospice Setting.

  • Thorough Understanding Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems And Guidelines.

  • Knowledge Of Medicare And Medicaid Regulations Related To Coding And Billing In The Home Health And Hospice Industry.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment While Maintaining Accuracy And Meeting Deadlines.
