- Provide compassionate and personalized care to patients and their families during end of life care.
- Serve as a key member of the hospice team, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' medical conditions and needs.
- Develop and oversee patient care plans, ensuring that they are tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their families, providing support and guidance during difficult and emotional situations.
- Monitor and manage patients' symptoms and pain levels, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal comfort and quality of life.
- Educate patients and their families about end of life care options, including hospice services and advance care planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.

- Stay current on industry developments and best practices in hospice care, actively seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and company policies related to hospice care and patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Amedisys' mission, vision, and values in all interactions with patients, families, and coworkers.
Medical Degree: A Hospice Physician At Amedisys Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: Candidates For The Hospice Physician Position Must Be Board-Certified In Hospice And Palliative Medicine, Or Have Equivalent Training And Experience In The Field.
State Medical License: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Physicians To Hold A Current And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing.
Experience In Palliative Care: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Providing Hospice And Palliative Care To Patients, Preferably In A Hospice Setting.
