Welcome to Amedisys, a leading provider of hospice care and support services. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Director of Operations to join our team. As the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hospice program, ensuring quality care for our patients and their families.   1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the hospice program.
  2. Ensure compliance with all hospice regulations and best practices.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high-quality patient care.
  4. Hire, train, and supervise hospice staff, including nurses, social workers, and other support staff.
  5. Monitor and evaluate staff performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  8. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
  9. Develop and manage the hospice program's budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying areas for improvement.
  10. Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the hospice program.
  11. Maintain and update knowledge of hospice regulations and industry trends.
  12. Act as a liaison between the hospice program and Amedisys leadership.
  13. Handle any operational issues or challenges that may arise.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for hospice staff.
  15. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs that may arise.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Experience: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Role. Additionally, A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Hospice Operations Management, Preferably In A Leadership Position, Is Also Required.

  • Knowledge Of Hospice Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Hospice Care, Including Medicare And Medicaid Guidelines, To Ensure Compliance And Quality Of Care.

  • Leadership Skills: As The Director Of Operations, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Hospice Professionals And Overseeing All Aspects Of Operations. Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Develop A High-Performing Team, Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Financial Management: The Director Of Operations Will Be Responsible For Managing The Budget And Financial Performance Of The Hospice Program. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Strong Financial Management Skills, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Cost Control.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Various Stakeholders, Including Patients, Families, Staff, And External Partners. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For Building Relationships, Resolving Conflicts, And Promoting A Positive Work Culture.
