  1. Provide compassionate and personalized care to patients in accordance with Amedisys standards and guidelines.
  2. Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  3. Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  4. Monitor and report any changes in patient's health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  5. Administer medication and assist with medical equipment as instructed by the healthcare team.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized environment for the patient, including light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  7. Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the patient and their family, promoting trust and open communication.
  8. Adhere to all infection control protocols and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the patient.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and advancements in home health care.
  10. Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  11. Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude at all times, promoting the company's values and mission.
  12. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans and provide input on patient progress and needs.
  13. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and services provided.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and enhance the patient's quality of life.
  15. Represent Amedisys in a positive and professional manner, promoting our commitment to compassionate and personalized care.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Amedisys Requires All Home Health Aides To Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Ensure They Have A Basic Level Of Education And Can Communicate Effectively With Clients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • State Certification: Amedisys Requires All Home Health Aides To Be Certified By The State In Which They Will Be Working. This Certification Ensures That They Have Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Have Met All Necessary Requirements To Provide Home Health Care Services.

  • Experience In Home Health Care Or Related Field: While Not Always Required, Amedisys Prefers Home Health Aides Who Have Previous Experience In Home Health Care Or A Related Field. This Experience Shows That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Job Responsibilities And Is Better Equipped To Provide Quality Care To Clients.

  • Physical Ability: Home Health Aides Must Be Physically Able To Perform Their Job Duties, Which May Include Lifting And Moving Clients, Assisting With Personal Care, And Performing Household Tasks. Amedisys May Require A Physical Examination To Ensure The Candidate Is Physically Capable Of Meeting The Demands Of The Job.
