Job Description

In this role, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to individuals in the last stages of life.   1. Provide compassionate and holistic care to hospice patients in the last stages of life.
  2. Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  3. Assist patients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
  4. Monitor and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
  5. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  6. Administer medications and assist with medical procedures under the direction of a nurse.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  8. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, following all infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  10. Attend team meetings and provide input on patient care and treatment plans.
  11. Continuously educate yourself on hospice care and best practices to provide the highest quality of care to patients.
  12. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  13. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Uphold the values and mission of Amedisys in all interactions.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  16. Complete all required training and certifications.
  17. Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance the quality of care provided.
  18. Foster a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) License: A Candidate For A Cna Hospice Aide Job At Amedisys Must Possess A Valid Cna License, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Providing Basic Nursing Care To Patients.

  • Hospice Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Hospice Setting, As This Role Requires Specialized Knowledge And Understanding Of End-Of-Life Care.

  • Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: A Cna Hospice Aide Should Have A Natural Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Comfort To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In A Hospice Setting, And The Candidate Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Families, And The Healthcare Team.

  • Physical Stamina: This Role May Involve Lifting, Transferring, And Assisting Patients With Their Daily Activities, So The Candidate Should Have The Physical Strength And Endurance To Perform These Tasks. They Should Also Be Able To Work Long Shifts And Handle The Emotional Demands Of The Job.
