- Provide compassionate care to patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.
- Support patients in maintaining their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor patient's vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
- Administer medication and assist with other medical procedures as directed by the medical team.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Amedisys and regulatory guidelines.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in providing hospice care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their cultural and personal beliefs.
- Represent Amedisys in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Licensure: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Possess A Valid Cna License In The State Where They Will Be Providing Care.
Prior Experience In Hospice Or End-Of-Life Care: A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In Hospice Or End-Of-Life Care Is Preferred For This Role.
Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: Hospice Aides Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As A Genuine Desire To Provide Comfort And Support To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time.
Strong Clinical Skills: Amedisys Looks For Candidates With A Solid Understanding Of Basic Nursing Procedures And Techniques, As Well As The Ability To Monitor And Report On Patient Conditions.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team: Hospice Aides At Amedisys Must Be Self-Motivated And Able To Work Independently, While Also Collaborating With Other Members Of The Hospice Care Team To Provide Comprehensive Care To Patients.
