  1. Provide compassionate care: As a CNA Hospice Aide, your main responsibility will be to provide compassionate care to patients and their families during their end-of-life journey. This includes providing emotional support, comfort, and assistance with daily activities.
  2. Assist with personal care: You will be responsible for assisting patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. This requires sensitivity and respect for the patient's privacy and dignity.
  3. Monitor patient's condition: As a vital member of the hospice care team, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting any changes in the patient's condition to the hospice nurse. This includes keeping track of vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being.
  4. Communicate effectively: You will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, their families, and the hospice care team. This includes providing updates on the patient's condition, addressing any concerns or questions, and following communication protocols.
  5. Maintain a safe environment: It is important to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients at all times. This includes keeping the patient's room clean and organized, ensuring proper infection control measures, and reporting any safety concerns.
  6. Document patient care: Accurate and timely documentation of patient care is essential in hospice care. You will be responsible for documenting all care provided and any changes in the patient's condition in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  7. Collaborate with the hospice team: As a CNA Hospice Aide, you will work closely with the hospice nurse, social worker, and other members of the hospice care team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  8. Attend training and educational programs: To provide the best possible care, you will be responsible for attending and completing all required training and educational programs. This includes staying up-to-date with hospice care practices and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) License: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Hold A Current Cna License In The State Where They Will Be Working.

  • Hospice Experience: A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In A Hospice Setting Is Preferred, As Well As Experience With End-Of-Life Care And Pain Management.

  • Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: Amedisys Places A Strong Emphasis On Providing Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families, Making It Essential For Hospice Aides To Have A Caring And Empathetic Nature.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Hospice Aides Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. This Includes Being Able To Listen Actively, Provide Clear Instructions, And Report Any Changes In A Patient's Condition.

  • Physical And Emotional Resilience: The Role Of A Hospice Aide Can Be Physically And Emotionally Demanding, Requiring Individuals To Have The Physical Stamina And Emotional Resilience To Provide Care For Patients During Their End-Of-Life Journey.
