We are currently seeking a certified nursing assistant (CNA) hospice aide to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of improving the lives of those facing end-of-life care. As a CNA hospice aide at Amedisys, you will play a vital role in providing comfort, support, and dignity to patients during their final journey.   1. Provide compassionate and quality care to patients and their families in accordance with Amedisys' mission and values.
  2. Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the nurse or physician.
  4. Monitor and report changes in patients' physical and mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  5. Create a comfortable and supportive environment for patients and their families during end-of-life care.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  11. Stay updated on the latest hospice care practices and techniques.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  13. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect towards patients and their families.
  14. Comply with all legal and ethical standards.
  15. Uphold Amedisys' values and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Be Certified As A Cna In Their State Of Employment. This Ensures That Candidates Have Received Proper Training And Have The Necessary Skills To Provide Quality Care To Hospice Patients.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care: Amedisys Values Candidates With Previous Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care, As It Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working With Terminally Ill Patients And Their Families.

  • Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: Amedisys Is Looking For Candidates Who Possess A Natural Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Comfort To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time. This Requires A Compassionate And Empathetic Nature, As Well As Excellent Communication Skills.

  • Physical And Emotional Resilience: Working As A Hospice Aide Can Be Physically And Emotionally Demanding, As It Involves Providing Care To Patients In Their Final Stages Of Life. Amedisys Is Seeking Candidates Who Have The Resilience And Stamina To Handle The Challenges Of This Role.

  • Team Player With Strong Interpersonal Skills: As Part Of A Hospice Care Team, A Hospice Aide At Amedisys Must Be Able To Collaborate And Communicate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Build Trusting Relationships With Patients And Their Families. Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Setting Are Essential Qualifications For This Role.
