- Provide compassionate and quality care to patients and their families in accordance with Amedisys' mission and values.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the nurse or physician.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' physical and mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Create a comfortable and supportive environment for patients and their families during end-of-life care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Stay updated on the latest hospice care practices and techniques.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect towards patients and their families.

Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Be Certified As A Cna In Their State Of Employment. This Ensures That Candidates Have Received Proper Training And Have The Necessary Skills To Provide Quality Care To Hospice Patients.
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care: Amedisys Values Candidates With Previous Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care, As It Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working With Terminally Ill Patients And Their Families.
Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: Amedisys Is Looking For Candidates Who Possess A Natural Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Comfort To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time. This Requires A Compassionate And Empathetic Nature, As Well As Excellent Communication Skills.
