Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Hold A Current Cna Certification From An Accredited Program.
Experience In End-Of-Life Care: A Minimum Of 1-Year Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care Is Preferred, Demonstrating Knowledge And Understanding Of The Unique Needs Of Patients At The End Of Life.
Compassionate And Empathetic: A Hospice Aide Must Have A Compassionate And Empathetic Nature, With The Ability To Provide Emotional Support To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In Hospice Care, And Amedisys Values Candidates Who Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And The Hospice Care Team.
Physical Requirements: The Role Of A Hospice Aide Can Be Physically Demanding, So Amedisys Requires Candidates To Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds, Bend, Stretch, And Stand For Extended Periods. Candidates Must Also Have A Valid Driver's License And Reliable Transportation.
