Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Amedisys Requires All Hospice Aides To Hold A Current Cna Certification From An Accredited Program.

  • Experience In End-Of-Life Care: A Minimum Of 1-Year Experience In Hospice Or Palliative Care Is Preferred, Demonstrating Knowledge And Understanding Of The Unique Needs Of Patients At The End Of Life.

  • Compassionate And Empathetic: A Hospice Aide Must Have A Compassionate And Empathetic Nature, With The Ability To Provide Emotional Support To Patients And Their Families During A Difficult Time.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In Hospice Care, And Amedisys Values Candidates Who Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And The Hospice Care Team.

  • Physical Requirements: The Role Of A Hospice Aide Can Be Physically Demanding, So Amedisys Requires Candidates To Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds, Bend, Stretch, And Stand For Extended Periods. Candidates Must Also Have A Valid Driver's License And Reliable Transportation.
