Perform a variety of laboratory tests, experiments, and procedures using advanced scientific techniques and equipment.
Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, promptly addressing any technical issues or malfunctions.
Monitor and track laboratory inventory, ensuring adequate supplies are available for testing and research purposes.
Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to design and conduct experiments and research projects.
Participate in the development and validation of new laboratory assays and procedures.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Document and maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures, results, and data.
Stay current with advances in scientific research and technology relevant to the field of genetic testing.
Communicate and collaborate with other departments, healthcare professionals, and clients to provide timely and accurate test results.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
Train and mentor junior laboratory staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including CLIA and CAP guidelines.
Contribute to the overall success of the laboratory by actively participating in team meetings, sharing ideas, and suggesting improvements.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development by attending conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field: A Clinical Laboratory Scientist At Ambry Genetics Should Have A Solid Educational Foundation In Laboratory Science, Including Courses In Biochemistry, Microbiology, And Genetics.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt): This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met Rigorous Standards Set By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) And Is Proficient In All Areas Of Laboratory Science.
Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Ambry Genetics Requires Candidates To Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With Laboratory Protocols, Equipment, And Quality Control Measures.
Knowledge Of Molecular Genetics: As A Genetics Company, Ambry Genetics Requires Its Clinical Laboratory Scientists To Have A Strong Understanding Of Molecular Genetics Techniques And Their Applications In Clinical Diagnostics.
Attention To Detail And Strong Analytical Skills: Clinical Laboratory Scientists Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate And Precise Test Results. They Should Also Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Interpret Complex Data And Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise During Testing.
