
Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner
At Altru Health System, we are looking for an experienced and compassionate Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will be an organized and professional clinician who is comfortable working with a diverse range of patients. The Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner will provide exceptional care to patients within our oncology department while working collaboratively with our team of physicians and other medical staff.To be considered for this position, applicants must have at least two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a specialty in oncology. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with an active NP license and certification in their specialty. Responsibilities:
- Treat patients with a variety of medical oncology conditions, including cancer, in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other medical staff to provide effective care to patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, medications, and other treatments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Document patient visits and other relevant information in the electronic health record.
- Remain up-to-date on current medical oncology trends and best practices.
Graduate Of An Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Aprn) Licensure
Certificate Of Authority From The Minnesota Board Of Nursing
Minimum Of One Year Of Experience As A Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Strong Clinical Assessment And Treatment Skills
Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification
Knowledge Of Chemotherapy And Biotherapy Administration
