Job Description

The Cardiac Device Technician at Altru Health System is an integral part of our team, responsible for providing safe and effective care to our patients. As a Cardiac Device Technician, you will be responsible for performing and monitoring device implantations including pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. To be successful in this role, you must have a high degree of proficiency in the use of complex diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities of a Cardiac Device Technician at Altru Health System:

  1. Perform device implantations including pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices in a safe and effective manner.
  2. Monitor the performance of implanted devices.
  3. Utilize complex diagnostic and therapeutic equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  4. Provide patient education related to device implantation and follow-up care.
  5. Maintain accurate patient records.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  7. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  8. Stay up-to-date on new developments in the field of cardiac device technology.
