Job Description

Welcome to the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Bureau (ATF), where our mission is to protect communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, and the illegal use and storage of explosives. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Technology Specialist (System Analyst) to join our team. As an IT Specialist at ATF, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical expertise to support and enhance our critical systems and operations.   1. Develop and maintain critical systems and applications for the ATF to support its mission.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with hardware, software, and network systems.
  3. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
  4. Perform system analysis and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
  5. Ensure system security and data integrity by implementing appropriate measures and protocols.
  6. Maintain and update system documentation and user manuals.
  7. Train and assist users in utilizing software and systems effectively.
  8. Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and make recommendations for system upgrades.
  10. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to implement new systems and technologies.
  11. Adhere to established policies and procedures for system development, maintenance, and security.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders to provide updates on system projects and issues.
  13. Conduct regular system audits and perform necessary maintenance and upgrades.
  14. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for ATF employees.
  15. Continuously improve system processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Systems Analysis, Preferably In The Law Enforcement Or Government Sector.

  • Proficiency In Various Programming Languages And Database Management Systems.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Familiarity With Industry Standards And Best Practices For Information Security And Data Management.
